As a volunteer you will be representing the Irish Redhead Convention, the village of Crosshaven, your mum and dad, and gingers worldwide. You better be good! And don’t leave us down. We’re depending on you!!!!

Outline of positions available :
Stewards
Responsible for helping the public with any problems and directing people where to go. Keeping the event areas clean and tidy. Acting as roving information desks on the activities and times of events. Helping things run smoothly!
REDgistration
The REDgistration team are one of the first point of contacts for festival goers. You will be checking tickets for those who have red-gistered online and handling the cash sales and data entry of those who have not already red-gistered online. You will handing over “Certificates of Genuine Foxiness” and redhead goodie bags to these attendees. People skills, computer literacy, a welcoming smile and a sense of humour are a must!
Merchandise
Responsible for selling official convention merchandise. You must keep the merchandise area clean and tidy, help customers with their purchase, handle cash transactions and account for all sales.
Official Judge
We need a team of judges who can pick out the best redhead qualities on the planet. You will be responsible for 2-3 judging categories, which include ; Best Red Eyebrows, Longest Red Hair, Youngest Redhead, Furthest Traveled Redhead, Best Dressed Redhead, Best Ex Redhead, Best Redhead Family, Best Redhead Mum, Best Redhead Dad, Best Wannabe Redhead, Best Red Dog and most importantly finding our new Redhead King and Queen.
Social Media Team
We’re looking for people who love social media as much as we do, to help us with our online voice throughout the weekend. If you have a quirky sense of humour, excellent writing skills and the ability to make people think twice about your tweets, then this might be the role for you. You must have you own laptop, tablet or smart phone and treat this highly responsible role with utmost respect!
Photographers
Looking for photographers to document varying aspects of the event. Photos to be used across social media channels and future promotion of event.
Individual Event Steward
There are many individual events taking place during the Irish Redhead Convention. These include music performances, seminar, storytelling and the carrot tossing championships. We will need assistance in set up and pull down, seating, ticketing, audience supervision and clean up.
Individual Event Supervisor
Event supervisors ensure the smooth functioning of individual events. It is your responsibility to keep venues clean and organised. Collect tickets, make sure equipment is working correctly, and offer any help support to performers and audiences.
Artist Liason Officer
We have a number of artists and performers partaking in festival events. We need a team to meet and greet these people and be their right-hand point of contact for festival matters.
Press and Media Liaison
The press community is a large and important part of any successful festival. Press and media volunteers will assist media with any problems or festival related queries and will ensure they are well informed and facilitated at all times.
Kiddies Zone Team
There are lots and lots of kids at the Irish Redhead Convention and we want to make everything as fun as possible for them. If you would like to be involved in workshops, kids games or more, just let us know.
Car Park Attendants
This is our first and last point of contact with guests arriving to the Irish Redhead Convention. Your job is to ensure the smooth running of the traffic and parking and is essential for the weekend to ensure a safe, fun and calm environment.
Volunteers are assigned to one of the roles above based on qualification and experience. Please be aware that the festival does not provide accommodation to volunteers, but we can supply a list of hotels, B&Bs and a campsite in the area.
As a volunteer you will receive a special volunteer t-shirt, free red-gistration and a meal voucher for the event.
